Student Support Services

Luther College has been proud to host this federally funded TRIO program since 1973. Housed and administered at SASC, the SSS program serves 160 qualifying Luther students per academic year.
SSS is considered a retention program that serves students who are income eligible, first generation, and students with disabilities while they pursue and complete a degree in higher education. Meant to meet the needs of traditionally under-represented and under-served populations, SSS services and activities include academic support, mentoring, and cultural enrichment opportunities.
The success of the project is measured by the retention, academic progress, and graduation rates of eligible participants and by the level at which Luther fosters a supportive institutional climate.
Students may apply to be in the program by visiting the SSS office located in Preus 108.
Services are free and include:
- loaning you a laptop
- providing school supplies
- matching you with a tutor
- cultural and social activities
- helping you manage your busy schedule
- giving you access to additional financial assistance
- providing a shoulder to lean on when times are tough
- helping you celebrate your successes
