Facilities
The sports managment program utilizes classrooms and computer labs of the economics and business department, as well as the classrooms and athletic facilities of the health and physical education department.
Accounting, economics, and management classes are located in the Olin Building, a $6-million gift to Luther from the F.W. Olin Foundation, dedicated in 1995.
Health and physical education classes utilize the Regents Center, which include classrooms and conference rooms; six full-sized, indoor basketball courts; 20 regulation baskets; a 25-yard, six-lane indoor swimming pool; a 200-meter indoor track; three racquetball courts; a wrestling room; a dance studio; six tennis courts in areas that can also be used for basketball and volleyball; and locker, training, and equipment rooms.
The Legends Fitness for Life Center, a 14,000-square-foot addition to the Regents Center, opened in Spring 2001. The center features a complete array of cardiovascular-conditioning machines, a full range of free weights and weight machines, a 30-foot rock-climbing wall, and a lounge area.
Luther's outdoor facilities include Carlson Stadium, with seating for 5,000 Norse fans and an eight-lane, all-weather, 400-meter track. Nine tennis courts are available for student use. Baseball and softball diamonds are located next to the Regents Center, and the adjacent 15-acre field area includes a fitness trail with exercise stations, rugby and soccer pitches, and a playing field for intramural sports.
