On the basis of its accreditation by the Iowa Department of Education and the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education, Luther College can present its teaching graduates for certification in most states.

Employment prospects for certified teachers are bright. Luther's success in the placement of teachers has been appreciably better than the national average. Each spring the college sends a teacher candidate brochure to school districts; the Career Center notifies students of job opportunities and assists with applications and résumés.
