Facilities
The arts managment program utilizes classrooms, studios, computer labs, and performance spaces of the accounting, art, economics, management, music, and theatre/dance departments.
Luther's art and theatre/dance classes are held in the 60,000-square-foot Center for the Arts, which features Jewel Theatre, a 225-seat flexible theatre; a fully equipped scene shop; a large costume construction area; a spacious dressing/make-up room; two studio spaces; the Sunnyside Cafe; and numerous comfortable lounge areas for students to study and gather. Special classrooms for pottery, computer art, drawing/painting, photography, and fiber arts add to the energy of the center.
Music classes are held in Jenson Hall of Music, which houses three rehearsal halls, an organ studio, faculty studios, 36 private practice rooms, and the Presser Music Laboratory. The Weston H. Noble Recital Hall, a state-of-the-art facility, and additional faculty offices were dedicated in Fall 2002.
Luther musicians also rehearse and perform in the Center for Faith and Life, which includes a 1,600-seat auditorium and a 200-seat recital hall. The auditorium houses the Rost Memorial Organ, a beautiful 62-rank, mechanical-action pipe organ built by Robert Sipe.
Accounting, economics, and management classes are located in the Olin Building, a $6-million gift to Luther from the F.W. Olin Foundation, dedicated in 1995.
