Art
Luther offers an art major and an art minor, with emphasis possibilities in painting, photography, pottery, drawing, graphic design and more.
Art students—including the many nonmajors who take a class or two during their time on campus—are encouraged to build bridges between the arts and such disciplines as science, literature, religion, history, philosophy, anthropology, and music.
This liberal arts perspective enriches and strengthens students' art, and helps sustain a life-long artistic pursuit of creative problem-solving and individual expression.
Art Scholarships
A limited number of scholarships are available for prospective art students. The department reviews portfolios for scholarship awards once a year in the spring.
Please contact the Luther College Admissions Office (1-800-4 LUTHER) for more information or write to department head Jeff Dintaman for specifics regarding application procedures and portfolio requirements.
