Sophomore Orientation

This group has developed plans for a common sophomore orientation experience that will frame the sophomore year for students at Luther. The goals for the orientation are to celebrate sophomore students and welcome them back for their sophomore and to set the stage for the developmental tasks and experiences of the sophomore year, including but not limited to vocational exploration, grappling with values and priorities, embracing trying new experiences and taking risks, and utilizing Luther resources that support students' curricular, co-curricular, and future planning endeavors.

The group's work includes:

  • Exploring and weighing possible models for a common sophomore orientation experience at Luther College.
  • Planning the implementation of a sophomore welcome and celebration event for fall 2018.
  • Exploring the possibility of sophomore retreats accessible to all sophomores to be piloted in 2019-20.
