Qualifications
Required: MSW and two years of post-MSW practice experience; a demonstrated record of high quality teaching, community service, and scholarly activity; a commitment to undergraduate education and to the liberal arts.
Preferred: Ph.D. or ABD in social work or related field and a minimum of two years teaching experience. Experience supervising field education and coordinating with other agencies; scholarly and professional interests and experience in areas like: practice research, cross cultural practice, rural social work, geriatric social work, environmental social work, service learning, etc.
Responsibilities
Full-time teaching load at Luther is 6 courses per year. Over a two-year period, this person will teach on average 4 social work courses one year and five courses the alternate year (including Field Seminar each semester and one January-term) -- this represents 25% release time for directing field placements. Annual teaching load may include HBSE, Research Methods, Policy and/or Practice Methods. Direct, arrange, and supervise student field education. Teach occasional interdisciplinary courses, or other special topics courses according to academic interests; collaboration on research and other projects. Active contribution to social work program development. Engage in community service activities both on and off campus.
Salary Range
Commensurate with academic qualifications and professional experience.

The Social Work Program consists of three full-time faculty and has been accredited by CSWE for the past 30 years.
