Notice of a Tenure-Eligible Position in Philosophy

Assistant Professor of Philosophy - full-time, tenure-eligible position.

Beginning Date
Late August 2010

Qualifications
Ph.D. required by September 1, 2010. The department seeks candidates who combine enthusiasm for undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts environment with excellence in scholarship. High value will be placed on interdisciplinary teaching and research.   

Responsibilities
Specialization open, but candidate will take primary responsibility for undergraduate courses in Ancient Philosophy and Logic; preference for candidates with additional interest in Feminist Philosophy, Metaphysics/Epistemology, or Aesthetics. Department seeks to complement existing strengths in Ethics, Social/Political, Environmental, and Philosophy of Religion. Teaching load is six courses per year.

Salary Range
Commensurate with academic qualifications and professional experience.
