Frequently Asked Questions

Where is race packet pickup?

 UPDATED March 9th

Race Packets will be distributed on Saturday, June 4th at the Halfway Creek Church at 6:30am during the mandatory Team Captain's meeting.

Does the Team Captain pay for the entire team at registration?

Yes. The Team Captain will pay and enter all the details for the team during the registration process. Team members are strongly encouraged to pay back the Team Captain for this nice gesture. At this time, credit cards are required for payment.

Do I have to run both days of the relay race?

Yes. Barring injury or emergency, each member of the team is expected to run at least one relay leg per day.

How long are the relay legs?

We are expecting each relay leg to be between 3 to 8 miles. Exact distances will be known in mid-April once the final map has been set.

Can I run only part of a leg?

We are currently looking into if this is a viable option. Check back at a future date and we should have more information.

I'd like to run but I can't find enough people to put together a team. Can you help?

Runners are responsible for putting together their own teams.  If you are looking for a team or looking for extra runners to fill a team, we will shortly have a form available to match up runners.  Check the Looking for Runners/Team link off to the left side.

Is there an age limit?

There is no age limit but runners under the age of 18 must have their release and waiver forms signed by a parent or guardian. Strollers are not permitted on any part of the course.

What about lodging in Rushford?

Arrangements have been made with the city of Rushford for camping at the city park.  These are primitive camp sites and will be available for free to race participants if they choose.

Are headphones allowed?

Participants may use headphones their own risk. Their use is discouraged in areas of heavy traffic, especially entering and leaving Holmen, Winona, and Rushford. Runner safety is a priority and if a race official or volunteer requests that headphones be removed, please comply.

Are pets allowed?

We're sorry, but Fido must stay home.

One of our team got injured in training. What do we do?

Team Substitutions are permitted until June 3rd (the night before the race. Simply find another runner and fill out the Team Substitution form.

What is the average temperature during the race?

June is a warm time in the Midwest with an average low of between 57 - 61 and a average high of around 81. Be prepared with plenty of water, sports drink, and food to recover from each leg.
