Commemorative Items

- A book, Transformed by the Journey: 150 Years of Luther College in Word and Image, by Wilfred F. Bunge '53, with Mary Hull Mohr and Dale Nimrod, is available for $25 at the Luther College Book Shop.
- Paintings of six campus scenes by Douglas Eckheart, emeritus professor of art, the first of which is shown above and is available at the Luther College Book Shop.
- Sesquicentennial celebration backdrop for the Center for Faith and Life designed by Jeff Dintaman, professor of theatre/dance
- The Luther College Piano Quartet - CD by music faculty Spencer Martin, viola; Eric Kutz, cello; Miko Kominami, piano; and Tarn Travers, violin. The CD includes a work written by faculty member and composer Brooke Joyce, entitled Laudate eum in cordis ("Praise him with stringed instruments"). In honor of the college's 150th anniversary, the work a musical paraphrase of Psalm 150.
- Transformations --Celebrating Jazz at Luther - CD featuring Luther College Jazz Orchestra and Vocal Jazz, directed by Juan Tony Guzmán and the Jazz Quintet, directed by Thomas Bourcier.
- Ted Jacobsen '77 has written a book for kids of all ages that celebrates the history of so many "Luther families" and their generations of commitment. Hallowed Ground: A Luther College Legacy is available at Luther's Book Shop.
And two favorite Decorah eateries are joining in the celebration:
- The Whippy Dip will introduce the NorseTornado in 2011 featuring blue "Luther College" M&M candies.
- Mabe's is featuring a Chicken Cordon Luther Blue Pizza. A student contest, which attracted over 100 entries, determined the winning sesquicentennial pizza's name and ingredients.
